Mali Zvornik

On the right bank of the swift and impetuous Drina River, bounded from the north with mountain Gucevo, and from the east mountains Boranja and Jagodnja, is located the municipality of Mali Zvornik. It's place, in which there are traces of human life from the Bronze Age, as evidenced by numerous archaeological remains. Is assumed that between theese two municipalities, with the same name, Zvornik and Mali Zvornik existed ancient Roman settlment Ad Drinum.

Mali Zvornik in the past was indispensable military fortification. On the hill Orlovine near Mali Zvornik, are the remains of the great medieval fortress that was probably built in the first half of the 15th century, during the Serbian country.

Back in the 1919th King Alexander I Unifier, the great grandson of the Supreme Leader Karadjordjevic, vowed to bridge the "Drina noble one". Leader immortal vow fulfilled his great-grandson, and the bridge was officially opened on 12th January 1930th year.

After World War II, the new government in the second Yugoslavia launches five year plan for development. The solemn moment occurred on 26 September 1955. , then president FNRJ - Josip Broz Tito addressed the gathered people.
